Saturday, September 13th is "Bost Day" at participating McDonalds in the River Valley. In conjunction with the Junior Civic League of Fort Smith, 75 cents of each chicken product sold will be donated to Bost, Inc. Participating Mc Donalds locations are: 9200 Highway #71 South, 8311 Rogers Avenue at the Mazzard Crossing, 4800 Towson Avenue, and 2221 Grand Avenue in Fort Smith, 1903 Fayetteville Road in Van Buren and at the Alma location at 237 Highway #71. Eat chicken for a good cause.

The Children’s Emergency Shelter presents the 2nd annual “Rockin’ in the Fort” fundraiser with 80’s rock legend, Night Ranger headlining the show with guests Crooked X and Cody Marks.The concert is scheduled for July 19th, 2008, at the Fort Smith Riverfront Park located in downtown Fort Smith.

The riverfront park gates will open at 6:00 p.m. on July 19th, with Cody Marks taking the stage at 7:15 pm, followed by Crooked X at 8:45 pm and headliner Night Ranger performs at 10:15.

The Arc for the River Valley "Bobby Chaney Memorial Fishing Derby" for children and adults with intellectual, physical and developmental disabilities will take place April 19 from 9am-12 noon at Carol Ann Cross Park. Lunch will be provided. Bring your sun screen, sunglasses, fishing gear and a chair or blanket.
