The Altus Grape Festival, on the last weekend of July, celebrates the beginning of the grape harvest in the Altus Viticultural Area. The grape growing region around Altus was recognized as an "Official Appellation of Origin" in 1984 and local grape growers, wineries and businesses have this annual event to enjoy a start to the new vintage. The fun includes wine tasting , music and entertainment and grape stomps. For more information check out the website at altusgrapefest.com .
