The Arc for the River Valley/Camp Many Mountains Garage Sale, a fund raiser to pay for educational opportunities for disabled children and adults will be Friday and Saturday, August 8 and 9, starting at7am, at Fort Smith Senior Activity Center, 2700 Cavanaugh Road. Donations of items to sell are welcome and appreciated. Call 783-5529. The garage sale is Friday and Saturday, August 8 and 9, starting at 7am each day.

The Arc for the River Valley "Bobby Chaney Memorial Fishing Derby" for children and adults with intellectual, physical and developmental disabilities will take place April 19 from 9am-12 noon at Carol Ann Cross Park. Lunch will be provided. Bring your sun screen, sunglasses, fishing gear and a chair or blanket.

Laura Numeroff, author of "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie," makes a
special appearance in Fort Smith. Kids of all ages and their families
can share time with the author as she talks about her books, writing
and the importance of reading. Numeroff is the author of many books for
young readers in addition to the "If You Give..." series including "The
Chicken Sisters" and "Beatrice Doesn’t Want To," a story about a
floppy-eared puppy dog that does not want to go to the library.
